We are thrilled to announce our new Quarterly Traveling Training and Eduction Program, designed to bring educational opportunities directly to you, no matter where you are in New York State. 

This innovative approach ensures that everyone has the chance to participate without the need for extensive travel with overnight hotel costs while accommodating your busy work schedules. 

We start the first day at 12:00 (noon) and will feature 4 hours of targeted educational content, including interactive workshops, expert presentations, and group discussions. This later start will allow for some optional office hours in the morning or accommodate travel time to the training site, eliminating the need for costly overnight accommodation beforehand.

NY State Building Construction                Course Code # TO2-07-3055                (Topic 0-2-0)

This continuing education session reviews and will discuss building construction, types, the difference between combustible versus non-combustible, live loads vs dead loads, and contrasting the different types of constructions. This continuing education session discusses building construction features and the impact on firefighting. The session reviews the importance of understanding a building’s construction and the spread of a fire through a building.

Fire Extinguishing Systems                      Course Code # TO2-07-3175                   (Topic 0-2-0)

This course also covers carbon dioxide suppression systems, water misting systems, and finishes with commercial cooking systems. The code enforcement official has to have an understanding of NFPA standards for these systems. Another topic discussed is NFPA 25 – system maintenance and testing of these systems and how they limit or extinguish fires.

The goal of this course  is to familiarize building officials, fire officials, plans examiners, inspectors, design professionals, contractors, and others in the construction industry with many of the important changes with the interior finishes, furnishings and vegetation so they do not significantly add to or create fire hazards in buildings using the 2020 Building Code of New York State and Fire Code of New York State.
